CAMALI DESIGN was started through my never ending wish to change
things that I see. When I see a piece of jewellery or a piece of
clothing there is usually something I would like to change, be it the
colour, the size/length or the shape. This made me think "why don't I
just make exactly what I want?" and so I started designing and making
my own jewellery. This sparked interest from others around me and so I
decided to offer my creations for sale under the name of CAMALI DESIGN,
which by the way is the 2 first letters of my first name, middle name
and surname.
I am Swedish and emigrated to the UK about 9 years ago now. I do
believe that my roots affect the things I design. I think the most
obvious principles that Scandinavian designs have in common are
simplicity, style and practicality. I'd like to think that those are
reflected and incorporated into my approach to design.
I try to make easy-to-wear jewellery for every and any day. I make
things that I can see myself wearing and hope others will like too.
Someone once described my jewellery as being "classy but casual" and I
think that hits the spot perfectly.
