It is important to look after your jewellery to get the best wear
out of them. This means storing the silver in a closed container (e.g.
the box it comes in) when not used, avoid wearing when sleeping,
exercising, cooking, showering/bathing etc. Also be careful not to get
perfume, hairspray and other beauty products on the piece as this can
damage the materials. Wipe your jewellery with a soft dry cloth after
each use and clean it regularly to keep it looking good for longer.
Silver
tarnishes naturally with time and can be polished with an appropriate
silver polish cloth, available in most supermarket or jewellers shops.
Please make sure you use a non-abrasive type to prevent polishing off
silver along with the tarnish and to prevent scratching of stones and
pearls. If you want to take extra care to prevent tarnishing you can
store your jewellery in an airtight container e.g. a zip-lock bag and
put a piece of anti-tarnish strip inside. This will prevent tarnishing
for longer.
The gemstones used in our jewellery can be washed using just soapy
water. Wash the whole piece including the silver in luke warm soapy
water. Just make sure you pat the item dry to prevent water marks, do
not let it self dry. Alternatively you can polish the stones using a
gemstone polish cloth or a so called miracle cloth (microfibre).
If you take good care of your jewellery you will be able to enjoy it for years and years!
